Read and Recite My Poems

THE PITIABLE HOSPITAL

There was a hospital near where I was born
Talk of blankets and pillows; there were none,
Medicine was a word unknown
There was no food and nurses were rude
In that pitiable hospital
There were no wheelchairs at all.

There was a hospital near where I was born
Doctors were never available in the morn
And when they came around noon
They asked, “Does anyone feel like going to the moon?”
(Meaning to die)
This made the patients fearfully perspire!

There was that hospital near Banana Hill…
So why did they call it a hospital?
Because it was very ill
